Have you ever sat down and thought to yourself how other people made it in life yet you are still in the valleys? Deeply rooted that you cannot shake the dust off your shoulders?

When I see a young person running a business, I feel the achievement that the person is willing to attain. But there are a few things that we ought to know as we run those businesses.

First, we need to come up with a business plan.  A business plan helps you to run through a set path and the targets set will help you to cross-examine yourself whether you are on the right track or not.

Sometimes, we fail to do ourselves justice. How? Many of us will ask. Consider the opportunities that would arise if you had a registered company or a business name:

1. It would be easy for you to have the opportunity to send an application for tender invitation by government bodies. Most of us usually have the assumption that corruption always prevail. But remember, you do not even give it a trial. This is just your assumption.
2. Secondly, you could be a Mama Mboga or you could be selling cereals out there. But with a sole proprietorship, you can get yourself tenders from institutions be it Supermarkets and or Schools and learning institutions. These institutions will not accept your supplies if you go in your own name. You could be a plumber or an artisan, verse yourself to grab opportunities from International clients. Just give it a thought!
3. You will find it easy for people and or businesses to trust doing business with you unlike when we go in our personal capacity.
4. Truth be told, some of us are just fresh graduates, we may not manage to raise the money required to register a company in Kenya. Therefore, it is advisable to start small but with all legal requirements until we get to where we have always wanted to be. For instance, you may have studied Accounting and you have the basic knowledge to do the basic accounting. It is easy to venture into this business when you have a registered entity. This applies to all graduates who are not yet employed and earning big.
5. Another mind blowing experience is that most graduates are earning less than the standards Kshs. 50,000 per month. Yet, I am not condemning but, they have been employed by school drop outs. YOU ARE MAKING MILLIONS for that person with your skills, expertise and knowledge.

Most of us fear to start small. The reason why most people who drop out of school make it life is because they know that they either have to make it in life; or make it!

I would dare you to take the risk. It won’t take you long to get there. It could be two, three or four years but eventually you will make it with the right mind set.

6. If you are a student or you employed and you feel the need to earn an extra income yet you do not have the capital, this is a good venture to run an entirely secure side hustle. Start building your Rome today!

Register a business name today and run the professional way. Make it a habit to earn for yourself. The hard input, the efforts you put to accomplish a task or even hit the target will make someone else add their monthly profits probably by 40%. What if you put the same effort towards growing yourself?

Many of us will testify or ascertain that they do not have job security or simply the security of tenure in their work places. Some will attest that there will never be salary rise or token of appreciation because you were able to increase in output of the company or you even implemented particular program or procedure that will make the company have rewards for the rest of its going concern life.

It is not simple; it requires discipline.

I one time heard a particular investor say, “I dropped school at form two but now I employ graduates to work for me. And I pay them what I decide.” I am sure many are saying the same out there.
