THINGS THAT SHOULD NEVER APPEAR ON YOUR CV
If you want to pass that test, you need to have SOLID qualifications and a perfect CV to highlight them.
- Your photo-Unless you are applying for a modelling job or it has been clearly requested for in the job advert.
- Unprofessional email address Kimkamaa@gmail.com- it takes less than 5 minutes to create an account. Do not bring out the notion of lack of seriousness and unprofessionalism.
- Personal social media accounts– although we are in the digital era, this could temp a recruiter to start browsing through your accounts and may come across something in your profile that could diminish your chances of being shortlisted.
- Grammatical errors and typos-this really puts a recruiter off as it depicts lack of seriousness.
- Vague and ambiguous phrases-these statements do not tell an employer much about you. instead, give a brief statement away from what every job seeker is using
- Personal pronouns:- Words like I, me, or my shouldn’t appear on your resume
- Personal details:- Do not include your religious preference, date of birth, tribe or ethnic group as this may lead to discrimination
The effort and time you put in preparing your CV always reflects to recruiters.
If you have been presenting half-baked, error-ridden CV’s you’ll probably never get a call back for an interview.
